God is in Control

Do you ever get anxiety over things that are out of your control? Do you have a fear of the unknown? Does it bother you to not have an answer for how to handle something that is weighing on you? All these questions I can answer with a resounding, yes. A major cause of the anxiety that I find myself facing daily is surrounded by feelings of a lack of control over certain situations. This is an area of my life that I am dedicating this year to try and overcome through the Word of God and the teachings Jesus. To understand and find relief in the idea that God is in control of everything in my life and I need to lean on Him and to continue to Trust in Him and quit spending valuable time worrying over things that are out of my control in the first place. I have been working hard to seek God and to go to Him in prayer over the situations that plague me with worry. The bible says we are to humble ourselves, pray, and seek the face of our Lord and that He will hear us if we turn from our wicked ways.

Another exercise that I am trying to do to quit spending so much time worrying and thinking about things I cannot control is making a list of all the things that I am currently stressed out over. After I make this list, I then place the things listed in two different categories. These categories are Things I Can Control vs. Things I Cannot Control. In doing this, I often find that most things that I listed fall under the things that I cannot control and those I give over to God to take care of in the way He sees fit and in His time. The things that I can have some control over, I take to God as well but through asking Him to help me make the right decisions so that everything goes smoothly and in a way that glorifies Him. This has really helped me place my full trust and faith in Him and I believe that it can help others do so as well. Remember to continue to lean on God and to give everything over to Him so He can take control.
